QuickballUpdated Wednesday January 30, 2019 by WRA Baseball Committee.
WRA is bringing Quickball to our neighborhood this spring! Quickball is a truly revolutionary national program designed for children ages 4 to 6 who are just beginning to explore the games of baseball and softball. Quickball makes the game more exciting and active to play and watch! Each child is given a bat and a ball to keep and take home with them to play in the yard!
Quickball grabs the attention of young players and lets them learn baseball and softball fundamentals without being bored or intimidated. This fast paced and developmental game was designed to replace t-ball. No longer will the kids be limited to 3 swings off a “T” each game and the hope of a single play in the field.
Quickball is such a successful program because of its action-packed game structure.
These CORE concepts teach the game in a whole new FUN way!
Up-tempo game play generates non-stop player movement and keeps everyone on their toes. Every batter sprints a single, double, triple and home run in every game and fielders stay active by rotating positions and handling specific fielding assignments.
Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. is a major supporter of Quickball and his national foundation — the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation — has built Ripken Quickball leagues and programs in more than 1,000 Athletic Leagues nationwide.
Schedule: Games are played on Saturday mornings at Wentz Run Park starting April 6th and running until early June. There are no additional weekday evening practices or scheduled events.
