PRIVACY POLICY

Our Commitment to Privacy

Whitpain Recreation Association (“WRA”) is committed to protecting your privacy and safety both on and off line. As a youth organization, we are concerned about privacy and go to extraordinary measures to safeguard any personal information we may collect about you or your children.   This Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our web-site. This statement will be continuously assessed against new technologies and Association practices.

Advice to Children

We encourage your parents to check and monitor your use of e-mail and other online activities. We strongly advise children to get their parent’s or guardian’s permission before submitting any kind of personal data to any Web site. We urge parents to be very clear with their children regarding the danger of giving personal information to anyone they don’t know, whether online or in person.

The WRA collects information in two formats:

  • Via E-mail contact or Web-site Registration
  •  Via In-Person or Mail-in Registration

What Information Do We Collect?

On our Web-site you may contact our Board of Directors via their personal e-mail address or by directing an inquiry to info@wrasports.org

If you choose to correspond with us through e-mail, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.

Registration Link

Our Web-site directs you to an off site, secure link maintained by Youth Leagues USA) for all of our sports online registrations. All information collected about you and your child via this connection will only be collected voluntarily and knowingly from you. Please read all waivers completely before indicating your acceptance.

Youth Leagues uses a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Credit card never displayed to any WRA users and are only used for processing your registration.

All personal information collected through our registration process is stored in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public. All credit card information supplied by users is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Youth Leagues, Inc. does not provide WRA with any of the credit card information provided by you on this secure site. All funds are collected by Youth Leagues, Inc. and deposited into the WRA bank account.   All other information you have provided such as child and parents name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, child’s age, doctor’s name and contact information and medical insurance information is used exclusively by the WRA as needed to coordinate the activity for which it was provided.

Walk-in or Mail-in Registration

Periodically, WRA may supplement on-line registration with walk-in and mail-in registration. The registration form for a particular sport is completed by the parent or guardian at a pre-designated registration site and time. (Forms may be obtained at these sites and mailed to the WRA post office box at another time). The information requested on the registration form is limited to the child and parents name, address, telephone number, e-mail address (not required if you do not want to be contacted via e-mail), child’s age, uniform size, doctor contact, pertinent medical information, medical insurance information and emergency contacts. This form is signed by the parent or guardian when submitted.

How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?

We use personal information for purposes of administering our activities only. The information is disseminated to members of the sports committees so that teams can be formed and to volunteer head coaches so that they can contact their players and have pertinent information available in the event of an emergency. The WRA maintains a database of the information contained on the forms. This database is used to compile statistics needed to obtain use of township facilities.

Do We Disclose the Information That You Provide to Us?

WRA does not sell, loan, exchange or make available in any way the names, addresses or any other contact or demographic information concerning our players or volunteers to outside individuals or organizations. No information collected is used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever outside WRA. On occasion, a child’s name may be included in a local newspaper article regarding the outcome and statistics of a particular game.
