An opportunity to help your child enjoy the sports you love

The Whitpain Recreation Association is a 45 year old non-profit organization that provides adult volunteers an opportunity to firmly implant the ideals of good sportsmanship, citizenship, community involvement, and spirited athletic participation in the boys and girls of our community.

This is accomplished by coordinating programs for baseball/softball, basketball, field hockey and soccer for the children to participate in.

If you’ve volunteered as a coach or commissioner in our program, then you know how rewarding it can be to share your experience with sports with your child and the community.

In order to continue this tradition, the Whitpain Recreation Association urgently needs your help. The administrative roles played by the board members and committee members are sorely lacking new membership and the organization is in jeopardy of being in a position which prevents it from supplying this service to the community going forward. If your child is playing soccer this year, you know from a recently circulated email that a dozen people coordinated the program for approximately 1200 children. This is the way the program works season after season, year after year, through the volunteerism of good citizens of the community.

Like these positive leaders of the community, we need volunteers to get involved in the administrative tasks to learn and take over the operations of the board and committees to replace members who leave the program.

If you think there’s something the WRA is doing well, let us know.

If you think there’s something the WRA could be doing better, let us know that, too.

But whatever you do, get involved. Putting this off does not serve the interests of the children in the community.
