About Us
The Whitpain Recreation Association offers the following sports programs for youth in our community.
Baseball and Softball for boys and girls age 7 -
18. Baseball/softball program starts with Tee
ball to introduce the game to the children.
Registration for our spring intramural and travel programs occurs in
the beginning of the calendar year.
Intramural and Travel Basketball. Out Intramural Basketball
program starts at age 7 and continues until the player is out of high
school. Registration for our basketball program occurs in
the fall with practices starting around Thanksgiving. Our
age 7 program is a clinic to introduce basketball skills and
traditionally starts in the New Calendar Year. Ages 8 and
up develop on that base and introduce the game. Travel Basketball
starts at age 10 and continues to ages 13. Candidates for
travel teams are selected through an evaluation process at tryouts in
the fall preceding the upcoming season.
Field Hockey for children ages 7-18. The WRA Field Hockey Program has been teaching
the fundamentals of Field Hockey since 1994. The WRA
Program has children participating in 4 different divisions, Instructional,
Junior, Intermediate, and Senior. Game are played on Sunday afternoons at MCCC
starting at the end of March and finishing with a Tournament the first week in
June. Field Hockey Registration occurs in
the beginning of the calendar year.
Intramural and Travel Soccer. The WRA soccer program enjoys the
participation of approx 1400 youth in our community. Registration
for both our intramural and travel programs is in the spring preceding
the upcoming fall season. Our Intramural Soccer program
starts at age 4 and continues until the participant is finished with
High School. The intramural program is played in the
Fall. Travel Teams start at age 9 and continue to age
15. Candidates must be under the team age target prior to
August 1 of the current year to qualify for a specific age
category. Candidates for travel teams are selected through
an evaluation process at tryouts in the spring preceding the upcoming
season.
