Whitpain Recreation Association (WRA) organizes and sponsors intramural and travel soccer programs for children and young adults residing in and around the Whitpain Township area. We serve more than 1,700 players, with 1,400 intramural and 370 travel players.

Intramural Program- Our intramural soccer program serves players from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten divisions are run by Smart Soccer, an outside vendor which has a specialized program for young players. These young players are on the field for an hour each week on Saturday with 20 minutes of skill development and 30-40 minutes of game time. The games are structured to have 3 or 4 children on each team so there is plenty of playtime per child. Divisions for grades 1-12 are coached by volunteers and have practice once a week during the week and games on Saturday. Most of the program is played at Shady Grove Elementary School on Skippack Pike, in Blue Bell, PA. Practices begin in mid to late August and opening game day is the first Saturday after Labor Day.

Travel Program - In 2007, we will field 24 boys and girls travel soccer teams.  Our teams compete in either InterCounty Soccer League or Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League. The travel program is a competitive program which includes traveling to other communities in our region for games. Practices begin in July and games continue through November. If you are looking for a competitive soccer program, try-out for the Travel program in the Spring. The program serves players in U9 through U16. Players in the U9 division must be 9 on or after August 1. Players in U10 must be 10 on or after August 1 etc. For more information, please see our Travel Soccer Guidelines.

Volunteers are needed! Please contribute whatever time you can- from a couple of hours to full involvement. We are essentially a 100% volunteer organization and continually need new volunteers to help administer these successful programs. We always need volunteers to help with coaching, setting up and managing teams for each division, setting up fields, managing picture day, organizing try-outs and other duties. So that we can keep this organization a 100% volunteer organization please volunteer by sending an email to either intramural or travel soccer at intramuralsoccer@wrasports.org (for intramural) or info@whitpainsoccer.org (for travel).
